The Practical "How-To's" of Creating Test Cases This course begins where most process courses end. Once the test plans are written, test teams are formed, and test tools are selected, it is time to create test cases. However, testing everything is impossible. Test design is about wisely choosing an appropriate slice of possible test combinations. This course provides many techniques for picking the "smartest" slice.
Hands-On Practice of Testing Techniques Your work begins with the selection of a format for recording test cases and continues throughout the class with students practicing each technique as it is presented. You can use instructor provided case studies or your own project during this class.
For Software Developers and Testers This course is appropriate for both novice and experienced software developers and testers. Testers will learn black box techniques that will make their test designs more effective and efficient and also acquire an understanding of the value of white box techniques and tools. Developers will learn how black box techniques can be applied at the unit level to help them determine not only whether their code “works” but also whether it does what it is supposed to do. Even experienced developers can gain a better understanding of how to employ structural testing techniques employed in classic unit testing. A background of basic development processes and test levels is helpful but not required.
If developers and testers from the same company take this training together they can make their testing more efficient by understanding the relationship of unit testing to higher levels of test and to help reduce gaps and overlaps between the levels.
